2017-2018 Cobb PTA Board Elections
The nominating committee presents the following recommendations for the 2017-2018 Cobb PTA Board Officers.
The new officers will be elected March 16, then all remaining chair positions will be filled.
If you are interested in serving on the PTA Board at Cobb Middle School next year as a chairperson, please complete and return this form to the school’s front office.
2017-2018 Cobb PTA Board Positions
President: Organizes and coordinates the overall activities of the association to reach its goals. Attends FISD Council of PTAs meetings and luncheons as called.
1st Vice President Membership: Organizes, implements and reports on all aspects of the association’s membership. Presides at PTA meetings in absence of the president.
2nd Vice President Programs: Selects and executes successful PTA programs for students and parents.
3rd Vice President Ways and Means: Coordinates and performs all fundraising activities for the organization.
Secretary: Records minutes of all meetings. Maintains current copy of bylaws and standing rules. Handles other correspondence as assigned by the president.
Treasurer: Maintains books of account and makes disbursements. Presents financial statements at regular meetings and executive board meetings.
Arts in Education Chair: Organizes and runs the Reflections program.
Book Fair Chair (I or II): Coordinates and executes fall and spring book fairs.
Directory: Coordinates and publishes school directory
Environmental Chair: Promotes activities and awareness related to environmental issues
Festival Chair: Coordinates festival with intention of developing community spirit.
Healthy Lifestyles Chair: Initiate, organize and execute healthy lifestyles initiatives.
Historian: Creates yearly scrapbook. Takes pictures at PTA events.
Hospitality Chair: Coordinates appreciation luncheons and events. Responsible for refreshments at PTA functions.
Inclusivity Chair: Celebrates and educates about diversity in our school through special multicultural events and activities.
Legislative/Council Representative: Attends Frisco Council of PTAs meetings and reports back to Cobb PTA. Prepares CMS PTA news article for the Council newsletter.
Newsletter/Publicity: Maintains PTA communication via newsletter/blog and social media.
Parliamentarian: Assists with all issues regarding PTA bylaws, standing rules and Robert’s Rules of Order.
SAGE Chair: Acts as a liaison between special education and gifted classes and their families, in order to foster inclusion of all diverse learners.
Spirit Wear Chair: Oversees the production and sale of school spirit-related merchandise.
Talent Show Chair: Coordinates annual student show.
Volunteer Chair: Coordinates volunteers for PTA functions.
Watch DOGS Chair: Coordinates Watch DOGS program.
Website Chair: Maintains Cobb PTA website and online store and sends weekly email blasts.
